Philosophy

This license plate has typified a view of life on planet Earth, for the Earth Please Foundation over the past ten years.

At its heart, the philosophy is built on the idea that we are responsible for our physical world, and what we think about our planet will determine what we create of our opportunities here.

It is the belief that our thoughts create life on planet Earth -- and therefore the suggestion, maintain good thoughts for the planet -- or Earth Please.

The foundation for this idea, that we hold some responsibility for the reality we create, can be found in many fields of study; psychology, philosophy, physics, and even in modern business.

These disciplines all suggest that it is what we believe about ourselves, and our world, that will determine the outcome or the result we experience.

In the new astrophysics, for example, Bob Toben points out, “The physical universe does not exist independent of the thought of the participator.” [Space Time and Beyond, p.16]

At the center of the Zen Buddhist philosophical theory;  “All that we are is a result of what we have thought:  The Buddha (563 BCE – 483 BCE).

Or, Martin Luther King; “Take the first step in faith.  You don’t have to see the whole staircase.  Just take the first step.”

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Eleanor Roosevelt.

“Events are not things that happen to you. They are materialized experiences formed by you, according to your expectations and beliefs.”  Seth as channeled to Jane Roberts,(from the 1/5/71 Class Session)

In his book, The Alchemy of Finance, Ted Soros, among the wealthiest men on the planet, describes the stock market by making the point, ". . . in the case of thinking participants, their own thoughts become a part of the subject matter [the market] to which they relate."

One of the most creative artists and space planners, the architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, remarked:  The space within becomes the reality of the building.”

And, then even in the Bible, there is the verse where Jesus pointed out: “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”  Proverbs 23.7

Having skimmed across these quotations, the astute observer may then note that the license plate pictured above is not totally accurate, and should really read:

This change would be made were Iowa to allow eight digit license plates.   Now, if you have further interest in how these ideas might be put into practice for the EarthPlease:
